Meditation in the Workplace with Mridu

As an Employee Training & Engagement Manager at Workforce Software, we invited Mridu to offer a 30 day Meditation & Mindfulness Challenge for our employees. She created a wonderful program where she offered 30 days of mindful activities mixing in her meditations through the Challenge. The response was positive and the employees really enjoyed it. More recently we offered a 2 week Meditation & Yoga Challenge before the Holidays, and she opened the meditations up to our remote employees, as well as our local employees. Again, we heard great feedback – employees loved it and appreciated having this available to them before the busyness of the Holidays begin. Mridu also offers weekly meditation sessions to the employees at our corporate headquarters. She brings calm, and peacefulness to each session and has a soothing voice. We’re excited to work with her in the next year to bring more mindfulness & meditation to our employees!

“I enjoyed the meditation challenge and did ultimately think more about incorporating quiet downtime in my workday (and not just as an activity outside of work). On more than one occasion, I found myself using the measured breathing technique when working on something challenging or while in a meeting to regain my focus. In one meeting I was to present to a group and found it calming to do measured breathing for several minutes before my turn to speak. 

I also liked having the meditation sessions at work during lunch. It helped me schedule time for this, and it was very interesting to see others in the company who were also participating. “I always like your guided meditations. So those were a favorite. I also liked that there were quick activities that I could do at the end of the day if I hadn’t done anything yet, especially listing 5 things that I’m grateful for or one minute of equal breathing. I also liked cases where I could tweak activities that I had planned anyway to be more mindful. For example, one Sunday we were supposed to do something without multitasking so I left my headphones at home for my run and concentrated on the run.   I find that doing something mindful after work like a breathing exercise or practicing gratitude or a walk in nature helps me turn off work and relax in the evening. This helps me sleep better and ultimately makes me more relaxed the next day.”

“I think all of the activities were valuable, especially the meditations. After the first week, I didn’t necessarily stick to the scheduled activities so much as I referred to the calendar like a menu: I tried to do something every day, but it wasn’t always the planned activity for the day. For example, If the weather was nice, I might choose to walk in nature, because sometimes the weather is not nice on the day that we are scheduled to walk in nature. Plus, I discovered my own personal preferences over time (walking and meditation) – which I think is a good thing. 

I was inspired by the mindfulness month to try to go back to yoga classes – I did some research, found a local studio that I like very much, and am really happy to be back in a yoga studio and on a mat. (It’s something I used to do, but because of the back injury I sort of scared myself out of practice.)

I feel a difference in my daily attitude and approach to challenges over the last month. My problems aren’t any less difficult, but my threshold for stress and my ability to cope just seems to be higher.

I really hope we do this again next year, or even more than once a year. I think it was well worth the time and I hope more people would take advantage of the opportunity. I think the influence of the challenge expands beyond just the people who directly participated in the challenge. I’ve noticed that even some co-workers who didn’t participate in the challenge have picked up other healthy habits (daily walks, for example) over the same time frame.”

Healing Sessions with Mridu…

Mridu has a very calming voice and presence to her. She is very kind and welcoming so I always feel very comfortable with her. I do meditation with her in an office space that has distractions but even with that her meditation always calms my mind and body. I find it hard to relax especially in the middle of the day but Mridu’s meditation is able to do that. We all leave the room very relaxed and refreshed.
I’ve also tried her CCT (energy healing) and was very pleased with the session, the message it gave me and the results. I continue to remind myself often of the message she gave me. I highly recommend Mridu and all her practices. She’s an amazing person
